Visa for citizens of other nationalities
For visitors of other nationalities, the visa cannot be granted immediately. Consulate will have to get a permission of the Embassy in the native country of the person. This permission takes minimum three working days. One has to pay an additional fee of R$15,00 is charged for this service.
Important
The Consulate generally grants visa in three working days, except in the cases where it will be necessary to have interview or other formalities.
The validity of visa starts from the date of its issue and not from the date of person's entry in India.
Documents for Visa
1- The vaccine of yellow fever Is necessary to enter India. This must have been taken at least ten days before the trip and is valid for ten years. The vaccine can be taken in the following airports: Guarulhos: Tel: 6445-2868 and Congonhas: Tel: 5041-2373.
2- Visa form completely filled in (link for download in this page).
3- One photo size 3 x 4 cm (pasted in the visa application form).
4 - Valid Passport (with validity superior of six months).
5 - Original receipt of deposit of visa fees, from the bank.
6- For Business visas it is necessary to submit a letter from the Brazilian company and an invitation letter from the Indian company, both on letterhead consisting: position of applicant, type of business, information on businesses already carried out with India and company to be visited in India.
Tourist Information
Those visiting for tourism, can ask for tourist material at the Reception. Videos and books on India can be seen in the library. You can also borrow upto three books from our library.
Information on business
For those visiting for Business, the Consulate would be happy to assist them. The Consulate possesses directories and lists of exporters for reference. Business applicants may be called for interview.
Permission for Restricted Areas
Special permission is requested to visit the following areas: Zongri (Sikkim), Pamyengtse (Sikkim), Gamtok-Rumtek-Phodang, Imphal (Manipur) and adjacents areas of Loktal Lake, Morang Ina Memorial, Kongjom War Memorial, Kiebul Deer Santuary and Lake and certain parts of Rajastan. Those who want to visit these areas need to ask for specific form. Visas, in these cases, delay more to be forwarded. It does not call for any additional fees.
Long-duration Stay
All foreigners (including those of Indian nationality) who intend to be in India for more than 180 days, with "Student Visa" (also pursuing Yoga studies, Vedic culture, music and Indian dances), "Research Visa", "Work Visa" or "Missionary Visa" will have to register themselves in the Department of Foreigners Registration in the exact place where the foreigner intends to stay. This registration has to be done untill the fourteenth day after their arrival.
Citizens of the following countries are exempted from visa fee:
Afghanistan, Argentina, Bangladesh, Jamaica, Maldives, Mauritius, Mongolia, North Korea, Poland, Slovak, South Africa, Romania, Russia and Uruguay.
Note: Citizens of these countries are exempeted of visa fee, however the fees of SEDEX or Post office and R$15,00 of fax expenditures are the same as applied to the citizens of other.
This Consulate is authorized to grant visa only to the citizens of the States under its jurisdiction, but it has exceptions for entrepreneurs and people who are in transit from one of these locations.
