This consulate has been promoting Indian culture in Brazil on a regular basis. Indian culture is so diverse that it is very difficult to promote only one aspect of this. In the recent times, we have organized the following:
A. Film Festivals:
- Indian Film Festival was organized in Salvador from January 11-17, 2008.
- Indian Film Festival was organized in Porto Alegre from February 22-18, 200
B. Dances
- Raja Radha Reddy group performed various items on ‘’Kuchipudi’’ at Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in August/September 2007.
- Indian dance ‘’Mohiniattam’’ performance was organized on June 12, 2007 at Florianopolis.
- Indian dance ‘’Bharatnataym’’ performance was organized on August 15, 2007 at Sao Paulo.
- Indian dance ‘’Bharatnataym’’ performance was organized on September 28, 2007 at Florianopolis.
C. Music, Food and others
• Consulate General of India in cooperation with Indian Association organized ‘’Deewali’’ (festival of lights) night at Sao Paulo on November 9, 2008. Various aspects of India Culture were displayed during that evening.
