The Consulate General of India in Sao Paulo was opened in April, 1996 when the need was felt to have an office of Government of India in this important city of Brazil. The Consulate is now fully functional and provides consular, commercial and cultural services.

The Consulate is headed by a Consul General and the other Indian officials of the consulate’s are Consul (Commercial), and a Vice Consul.

Also, there are important Brazilian employees like Commercial Advisor and Marketing Assistant, who help in promoting the economic and commercial relations between India and Brazil.

The Consulate has got a small library where anyone can come and read or borrow the books on India on its various aspects including economy, dances, music, films, yoga, ayurveda etc.

The Consulate is located in one of the important financial district of Sao Paulo viz. Avenida Paulista and can be accessible by the city buses, taxis, cars and Metros. The building where the consulate is located also has a heli-pad.

The people visiting the Consulate in private cars have to park their cars in paid parking since the consulate does not offer parking spaces.
